DIP: Mixing 2 Oldies but Goodies!

When I was younger, about 20 years old, my friend’s mom use to make us this dip that we use to destroy when we’d get back to his house from a night on the town and a night of drinking.  She use to get so angry at us because we’d eat it all along with any bread, pita, carb and veggie in the house. (one time I also realized it was REALLY good on pizza too!)

Over the years I never knew what it was in this magical drunken dip, all I knew is that it was delicious.  In the last week I’ve come to realize that it was a very simple mixture of two oldies, but goodies; hummus and tzatziki… Who woulda thought?  Two dips I’ve loved for years seperately to come together into one amazing mixture…

This is what I mixed up:

  • 2 tbsp Compliments Roasted Garlic Hummus Chick Pea Spread (Even better with Jalapeno Hummus) (60 cals, 3g fat, 5g carbs, 2g protein)
  • 1 tbsp Compliments Tzatziki Yogurt & Cucumber Dip (22 cals, 1.75g fat, 1g carbs, 0.5g protein)
  • 1 tbsp Omega Crunch Shelled Flax Seed – Roasted Garlic Flavour (20 cals, 2g fat, 1g carbs, 1g protein)
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced

All you have to do is scoop it into a dish, mix it together and voila, a wicked dip mix.  Grab a few whole wheat pita’s and you’re set.
